Name: Don Trotter

Professional Experience: Lifelong Pacific Northwest resident Don Trotter retired in 2000 from a career as an architect. Don began his architecture career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and finished in private practice.
Don was involved in the construction of the John Day Dam and powerhouse in the Dalles, Oregon and the design of the Bonneville Dam second powerhouse near Bonneville Washington while working with the Army Corps.
Don served four years on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Army (1961-65), followed by a six year stint with the U.S. Army Reserve.
Don was a private architectural consultant for twelve years, lending his expertise to the design of projects for public and non-profit organizations. By understanding the mechanics of building structures and taking an active role in community planning and design, he has an excellent set of skills and depth of experience to contribute in his role as a MERC Board Commissioner.
